One year on

We never expected to be in this difficult situation for everyone, please stay safe at home. One year on, we reflected on our start last spring, looking forward to a hopeful future to our beloved canal heritage and now with a heavy heart wishing only the very best for NHS.

All of us doing what we can, and trying to get on day by day, too afraid to think about what future holds for we know it will be very different to what we knew.

We have all lost what we once had at our doorstep, a canal landscape. One that some of us never find the time to enjoy, never mind trying to maintain and restore it. Now with restricted movements, we are acutely aware of our surroundings.

Let us all try on focus on the possibilities now that we see our outdoor spaces differently. We will, in a few weeks when the lockdown is lifted asymmetrically, find the opportunity to enjoy and embrace our community lifestyle once again, and for some of us, it will be a new beginning.

Good luck, stay safe. Find us on Facebook, post and share your adventure.
